Sometimes the idea of humans overpopulating the earth keeps me awake at night. There's too many people on this tiny little planet, yet we seem to keep making more babies, buying more stuff, eating more junk. Yes, I am part of that formula and system. And yes, we often tend to suffer (or benefit) from our choices, between the lack of resources, space, waste, territories, the obvious income gap and unavoidable poverty around the world, but most of all, I see how the ecosystem and its multitude of inhabitants suffer the most. For me, I associate the feeling of human overpopulation with an existential nausea, and so I wondered what that may look like visually. Thus, I travelled to some busy places to take some busy images, and I continue to do so every now and then, as our Earth reaches over 7 billion and counting... Fingers are crossed that we all find a way to get along.
